EAGLE VALE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT VISUAL ARTS SHOWCASE
Eagle Vale High School is located in the Campbelltown school district and has an enrolment of 600 students. The school has a culturally diverse community with students from over thirty different cultural backgrounds. Thirty five percent of the school population identifies as being part of a Pacific Islander Community, such as Samoan, Tongan, Maori or Cook Islanders.
Eagle Vale High School is committed to sustaining and building a culture of learning. All teaching and support staff are driven to improve the learning outcomes of student’s at all academic levels.
Our exhibition showcases students work across years 7-11, including students from the support unit. Each year group looked at various topics in Semester 1.
Year 7 students worked on the elements and principles of design, joining both organic and geometric shapes in a harmonious and balanced composition, which considered colour, shape and size.
Year 8 students studied perspective, initially drawing from one-point and two-point perspectives and as well as topographical views. The influence of these paintings originated from Aboriginal art and the students local region, other students continued this process and found influences from overseas landscapes and classical landscape views.
Year 9 and 10 students studied cityscapes and the urban environment, focusing particularly on the city of Sydney. The materials used included felt tip pen and watercolour paint, focusing on detail and how their chosen medium can impact the overall artwork.
Year 11 students studied modern art movements and were encouraged to create artworks based on styles and conventions of a particular art movement. The subject matter for these artworks was an everyday object, ‘the bottle’.
This exhibit showcases the talented work of the dedicated students at Eagle Vale High School. All students participating have worked hard in class to achieve artworks that they can be proud of exhibiting.
