An exhibition of artworks by students from Elizabeth Macarthur High School.
Within this exhibition, students from Elizabeth Macarthur High School have explored art throughout history. Their works have been inspired by a range of historical periods and artists from these times. Their practical works align with the theory that has been conducted in the classroom to allow students to develop a deep understanding of the key concepts of the said artist, and also how they can use the artworld as a source of ideas for artworks.
Year 8 students have been influenced by the exterior environment of Italy. Their artworks are reflective of chosen landmarks they have written about and learnt about in a historical context.
They also explored perspective drawing by experimenting with tone and shading using the mediums of lead pencil, progresso pencils, charcoal and watercolour paints. They focused on creating a vanishing point and making their drawings appear as realistic as possible.
Year 11 Visual Arts students created a range of artworks that have been based around artists directly, such as Francis Bacon and Brett Whitely.
Our very passionate year 9 Visual Arts students have studied a plethora of art movements which is reflective in their works, from impressionism to fauvism.
This exhibition is a mix media feast, demonstrating the innovative and creative practices currently being taught in the high school curriculum at Elizabeth Macarthur High School.
